Each North Carolina driver license test must be passed separately. Your vision is checked, and the traffic signs test asks you to identify signs by color and shape and explain what each means (everything you need is in the handbook). The knowledge test covers traffic laws and safe driving practices, with an audio version available on request for people who have difficulty reading. The on-the-road driving test is taken after you have passed all the other tests.
