- Youngest age for a learner permit
- 15 years
- If you fail
- Retake on another day
The Tennessee driver license examination has three parts: a vision screening (at least 20/40 in each eye and both eyes together, with or without glasses or contacts), a knowledge test of multiple-choice questions on Sections B and C of the manual, about a quarter each on traffic signs and signals, safe driving principles, rules of the road, and drugs and alcohol, and a road test. No test may be repeated on the same day, and cheating means automatic failure and no new try for 30 days.
