Common questions
How do I change my state or the language?
Open Settings (the gear at the top of the Home screen). "Language" changes the app's language. "State" opens the map: pick a state, then the language of its questions (a new one downloads first).
Does the app work without internet?
Yes. Once your state's questions are downloaded, you can practice offline. Downloading another state or language needs a connection.
Where is my progress saved?
Only on this device. There is no account, so your progress does not move to another phone or tablet by itself; a full backup of your device (iCloud on iPhone and iPad, your Google account on Android) may bring it back on a new one.
How do I start over?
Settings, then "Reset my progress". It deletes your scores, missed questions and saved questions for the state you are studying from this device.
I found a mistake in a question
After you answer, tap "Report a problem" under the explanation. Your email app opens with the question number filled in; tell us what is wrong and we check it against the state's driver manual.
I saw an inappropriate ad
Settings, then "Report an ad". Describe the ad (and the advertiser, if you saw it) or attach a screenshot, and we block it in our ad settings once we can identify it.
How do I change my privacy choices for ads?
Settings, then "Privacy settings (ads)", if your region offers it. On iPhone and iPad, "Tracking permission (Settings)" opens the app's page in your device's Settings. The details are in our Privacy Policy.
Is this the DMV's app?
No. Driving Test Practice is an independent practice app, not affiliated with any government agency or DMV. The questions are based on each state's driver manual, published by its licensing agency. For appointments, fees or your license itself, contact your state's licensing agency.
